The Busan District Court Eastern Branch (Presiding Judge Shim Yoo-seung) announced on the 13th that Mr. A was sentenced to 8 months in prison for flying a drone in an apartment complex in Haeundae-gu, Busan, and secretly filming adults undressing. He was also ordered to complete a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program.
According to the court, Mr. A was prosecuted on charges of flying a drone from the rooftop of an apartment in Haeundae-gu on July 28 last year at around 10 p.m., filming men and women undressing in the LCT building located 1.8 km away for about 10 minutes.
The court stated, "In a situation where drone use is becoming commonplace, such crimes cause anxiety in the daily lives of ordinary people," and added, "The defendant has shown remorse for the crime and has no prior criminal record for similar offenses."
Meanwhile, in February last year, two individuals who filmed sexual intercourse videos by flying drones at a high-rise apartment in Suyeong-gu, Busan, were sentenced to 8 months in prison and fined 10 million won, respectively.
