Market Kurly "Traditional Liquor Snacks Ranked 1st in Ready Meals, 2nd in Seafood"

Market Kurly "Traditional Liquor Snacks Ranked 1st in Ready Meals, 2nd in Seafood" Market Kurly, 'Chuncheon Soup Dakgalbi Tteokbokki'.

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Market Kurly announced on the 10th that an analysis of the shopping carts of customers who purchased traditional liquor over about a month, from December 6 last year when they started selling traditional liquor to the 6th of this month, showed that 'Chuncheon Soup Dakgalbi Tteokbokki' was the most preferred side dish.

The product category most frequently added to the shopping carts of customers who purchased traditional liquor on Market Kurly was convenience food. The sales proportion of convenience food among customers who bought traditional liquor was the highest at 11.4%. Among them, 'Chuncheon Soup Dakgalbi Tteokbokki' showed the highest sales volume. It was evaluated to be popular because the spicy flavor of dakgalbi combined with tteokbokki allowed for a generous enjoyment. Next, 'Lee Yeon-bok's Mokran Jjamppong' was also sold frequently as a side dish. Market Kurly analyzed that the high sales volume was due to the convenience of using these as both easy meals and side dishes.

Many customers were found to enjoy traditional liquor paired with unique dishes rather than Korean food. 'John Cook Deli Meat's Barbecue Back Ribs' ranked high in sales among traditional liquor buyers. 'Choi Hyun-seok's Choi Dot Scallop Basil Pesto Pasta' and 'John Cook Deli Meat's Schwein Haxen' also ranked high, gaining popularity as side dishes for traditional liquor. There were also many customers who enjoyed meat dishes such as 'Kim's Butcher's U.S. Choice Chuck Steak' and 'Delicio's Wagyu Hamburg Steak' with traditional liquor.

Customers who purchased traditional liquor also bought a lot of seafood. In terms of product categories, seafood ranked second after convenience food, accounting for 8% of sales. This differs from the overall purchasing customers’ sales ranking, where convenience food was first, side dishes second, and fruits and nuts third. Among seafood, the popular product was 'Hongdae Jjukkumi's Stir-fried Jjukkumi (baby octopus)'. The spicy seasoning of the jjukkumi is considered a key factor in its good pairing with Makgeolli. 'Samsam Mulsan's Tongyeong Oysters', which are good for soups, sashimi, porridge, and seasoned dishes, 'Aurora Fresh Salmon', which pairs well with clear distilled liquor, and the seasonal Gwamegi vegetable set were also frequently purchased as side dishes by customers.

Since December last year, Market Kurly has been selling a total of 24 types of traditional liquor including Makgeolli, Yakju, distilled liquor, and fruit wine, recommending side dishes that go well with them. Currently, the most popular traditional liquor is 'Neurin Maeul Makgeolli', for which 'Again Refresh's Ricotta Salad' and 'Choi Hyun-seok's Choi Dot Truffle Cream Ravioli' are suggested as side dishes. The second best-selling traditional liquor, 'Seoul's Night', is a drink that pairs well with fish or seafood dishes. The third place is taken by 'Jeju Saem Nimome', fermented with Jeju rice and mandarin peel.
