Starbucks Launches Disposable Cup-Free Day Campaign on the 10th

Starbucks Launches Disposable Cup-Free Day Campaign on the 10th

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Starbucks Korea announced on the 10th that it will carry out a Disposable Cup Free Day campaign in collaboration with the Resource Circulation Social Solidarity.

On this day, Starbucks will give away two tall size free drink coupons by lottery to Starbucks Rewards members who use their personal cups at all stores and receive either a personal cup discount or eco-star points.

The number of winners will be 230, calculated by multiplying 23, representing the 23rd anniversary of Starbucks Korea's opening, by 10, symbolizing Disposable Cup Free Day (1 for disposable cup, 0 for no cup). Customers who apply the personal cup benefit using the Starbucks card registered to their account will be automatically entered into the event.

Additionally, gifts will be given to customers who practice eco-friendly daily life by using reusable cups. Among the 21.88 million reusable cup uses last year, the customer with the highest number of eco-star points earned will receive a one-year free drink coupon to enjoy tall size free drinks at Starbucks for a year. Then, 22 customers with the next highest eco-star points will receive one-month free drink coupons, and 220 customers will receive two free drink coupons each.

Since 2018, Starbucks has designated the 10th of every month as Disposable Cup Free Day (1 for disposable cup, 0 for no cup) and has been promoting various eco-friendly campaigns encouraging the use of reusable cups instead of disposable cups. Last year, online and offline participation campaigns were held monthly in various regions including Seoul, Busan, Jeju, Gyeongju, Daegu, Gwangju, and Gangwon. Through this, more than 11,000 customers participated in the campaign.
