[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] FSN announced on the 6th that it is entering the hair loss care market through Plan B Bio, a subsidiary of Boosters.
Boosters incorporated Plan B Bio as a subsidiary earlier this year. The strategy is to combine Plan B Bio's patents and technology in the hair loss field with Boosters' commerce and branding capabilities to grow into the number one brand in the hair loss care market.
Plan B Bio is a hair loss care specialist company that holds patents including ▲a composition for preventing hair loss and improving hair growth containing sea squirt shell extract as an active ingredient ▲a hair loss prevention shampoo with excellent activation of the TRPM8 cold receptor protein, as well as the shampoo brand 'DHT-X.'
Plan B Bio's flagship hair loss shampoo brand 'DHT-X' has applied sea squirt ingredient and patented formulation technology and has maintained a good market response for 10 years since its launch in 2012. The company explained that the sea squirt shell extract composition 'Chondroitin sulfate' in the 'DHT-X' shampoo has been highly evaluated functionally as it effectively responds to DHT (dihydrotestosterone)-induced hair loss.
The company also stated that since the 'DHT-X' shampoo uses sea squirt shell extract from Tongyeong, known as a clean water area, it has contributed to revitalizing the domestic fishing economy. In particular, since it uses sea squirt shells classified as waste, it has received positive evaluations from environmental and social perspectives.
Seo Jeonggyo, CEO of Boosters, said, "Hair loss is one of the biggest concerns many people experience as they age, with the domestic market size reaching about 4 trillion won. Since Plan B Bio's patented technology and long research know-how, which can provide practical help in preventing hair loss, have already been verified, we plan to grow it into the number one brand in the hair loss care market based on branding and marketing synergy with Boosters."
FSN subsidiary Boosters operates marketing commerce business through brand partnerships and investments. It successfully boosts partner companies in various categories with unique technology and competitiveness such as Ring Tea, Didac Neck, Petit Maison, and Kimchi Seasoning. Unlike typical advertising agencies, it has established a profit model that grows together with partners by sharing profits based on sales performance. Boosters, which has continued successful cases of investment and partnerships with various brands within two years of its establishment, plans to make Plan B Bio another successful boosting case.
