[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Jeong-su] Global venture and alternative investment platform NPX Group announced on the 4th that it has appointed Shin Hwang-gyu, former head of the Agile Core Team (ACT) at Samsung SDS, as the new Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Product Officer (CPO) of its affiliate NPX TerraArc.
CTO and CPO Shin Hwang-gyu is a technology and product development expert who worked at Samsung SDS for nearly 20 years and became the youngest team leader. He graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering at Hanyang University and earned a master's degree in the same field from the University of Illinois in the United States. He is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at Sungkyunkwan University. During his tenure at Samsung, he grew the Agile Core Team from 6 members to over 120 members in four years, leading the development of more than 40 projects and software products.
NPX Group conducts venture and alternative investments in Korea, the United States, Singapore, and Southeast Asia. Its affiliate NPX TerraArc supports entrepreneurs with product development capabilities and early-stage investments, while NPX Capital handles equity investments in relatively larger companies.
NPX TerraArc is known domestically for growing the hybrid English education business "Steam Academy." In Southeast Asian markets such as Vietnam and Thailand, it established the edutech company "NPX Point Avenue," which operates international schools and provides services such as overseas university consulting and leadership education. Recently, it launched the edutainment webtoon platform "Teracomics" targeting the U.S. market.
