[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Dong-joo] Starting with Kim Jong-in, the overall election committee chairman of the People Power Party, a series of resignation announcements followed in quick succession, including Kim Byung-joon, the standing election committee chairman, Kim Ki-hyun, the floor leader, and four joint election committee chairmen, as well as Lim Tae-hee, the overall situation headquarters chief, and Kim Han-gil, the New Era Preparation Committee chairman. This has plunged the People Power Party into great confusion, with the term "coup d'?tat" even emerging both inside and outside the party.
Chairman Kim announced a complete reorganization of the election committee without prior discussion with Yoon Seok-youl, the People Power Party's presidential candidate. Candidate Yoon, seemingly taken aback, canceled his scheduled events and entered a period of reflection, apologizing by saying, "Many people are worried about various matters related to the election, but that is entirely my responsibility as the candidate."
As of the 4th, Candidate Yoon has not appeared at the central party office.
