[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Lotte Department Store announced on the 3rd that it will start the main sales of Lunar New Year gift sets from the 7th.
This Lunar New Year, due to the impact of COVID-19, it is expected that many customers will express their feelings through gifts rather than visiting their hometowns, so the quantity of gift sets has been increased by about 30% compared to last year. Reflecting the fact that the per capita holiday gift purchase amount increased by 25% compared to the previous year, the premium product lineup has been strengthened.
The quantity of Korean beef (Hanwoo) gift sets has been increased by 40% compared to last year, preparing a total of 200,000 sets. Rare breeds with a small number of livestock, such as Ulleung Chilso, Jeju Black Hanwoo, and Sancheong Organic Hanwoo, will be sold in limited quantities. For customers spending the holiday at home, premium meal kits such as lamb ribs and tomahawk steak, as well as wine gift sets, will also be sold.
A Lotte Department Store official said, "This Lunar New Year, we have made efforts to showcase various unique gifts reflecting the changed holiday culture due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation," and added, "We hope that the heartfelt feelings of the sender will be conveyed as they are through gifts prepared with sincerity and trends."
