1st Place Return 89%... [Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Hanwha Investment & Securities held an awards ceremony based on the results of the practical investment competition held during September and October.


Hanwha Investment & Securities announced on the 30th that it held the '2021 Hanwha Investment & Securities Practical Investment Competition' awards ceremony at its headquarters in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul the previous day. The competition, held from September 1 to October 29, saw a total of 21,701 participants competing in three leagues divided by deposit asset size (1 million KRW / 30 million KRW / 100 million KRW leagues).


At this awards ceremony, the top five participants from each league were selected and awarded a total prize money of 171.9 million KRW along with certificates. Attending as representatives of the winners were Lee Taecheol (pen name Haengbokhan Buffett), who ranked first in the 100 million KRW league, and Kim Daehwan (pen name Ppareun Dangnagwi), who ranked first in the 1 million KRW league.


Lee Taecheol, the first-place winner of the 100 million KRW league, recorded a cumulative return rate of 88.84% and received prize money of 70 million KRW along with a certificate. Kim Daehwan, the first-place winner of the 1 million KRW league, recorded a cumulative return rate of 126.65% and received prize money of 3 million KRW along with a certificate.


The awards ceremony was conducted in strict compliance with quarantine guidelines, and prize money and certificates will be delivered non-face-to-face to winners who could not attend.


Sung Gisong, Executive Director of the New Growth Solutions Office at Hanwha Investment & Securities, said, "Hanwha Investment & Securities, which was the first securities company to hold a practical investment competition in 1999, felt a renewed sense of emotion in holding it again in 2021 after various changes and attempts." He added, "We will continue to prepare various events for investors and do our best to provide the optimal trading environment."
