[News from Gwangju Sarangui Yeolmae] Daekyung Steel Joins 'Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign' and More

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Daekyung Steel Co., Ltd. (CEO Byung-ik Lee) donated 50 million KRW to the Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign through the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Sangwon Han).


The donation ceremony was held at the KBS Broadcasting Headquarters office, attended by Daekyung Steel CEO Byung-ik Lee, KBS Gwangju Broadcasting Headquarters Director Chang-hwan Ji, and Gwangju Community Chest of Korea Secretary General Seongdo Lee.


CEO Byung-ik Lee said, “I am very pleased to put into practice the sharing I have always thought about,” adding, “I want to continue sharing steadily and feel the happiness that comes from sharing with neighbors.”


Meanwhile, the Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign, launched by the Community Chest of Korea on the 1st of this month, allows participation through ▲donations via KBS, MBC, and KBC broadcasters ▲donations through the social welfare departments of Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall and five district offices ▲donations through community service centers and local community security councils ▲joining the Honor Society (high-value individual donor club) ▲signing up for Good Stores and regular workplace donations through Good Workplace ▲ARS phone donations ▲QR code and simple payment ▲designated donations and in-kind donations.


Additionally, sharing can be participated in through online fundraising on the Gwangju Love Fruit website, and donation consultations can be made by contacting the fundraising team at the Gwangju Love Fruit Secretariat.

The Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation donated 2,038,074 KRW raised by its executives and employees to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea’s Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign.


The donation ceremony held on the 28th at the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea Sharing Culture Center was attended by Byun Jeong-seok, Chairman of the Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation, Director Il-gyun Jeong, and Secretary General Seongdo Lee of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.


Since last year, the Gwangju Credit Guarantee Foundation has been participating in donations as a Good Workplace of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea by donating the change from monthly salaries, and has been continuously supporting special COVID-19 fundraising and providing in-kind donations such as rice and processed foods for neighbors in need, serving as a model for the community.


Chairman Byun said, “Many employees were worried that donations might decrease due to the difficulties caused by COVID-19,” adding, “Although the amount is small this year as well, we want to deliver this precious fundraising filled with the hearts of our executives and employees.”

The nationwide golf club ‘Team Titleist Top 12’ (President Huo Jo) donated 2.38 million KRW raised to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Sangwon Han).


The donation ceremony was held at the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea Sharing Culture Center, attended by Team Titleist Top 12 President Huo Jo, Secretary General Kwang-jin Lee, and Secretary General Seongdo Lee of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.


The funds were accumulated by the golf club by saving 10,000 KRW for each birdie made during monthly tournaments.


President Huo Jo said, “After discussing how to use the accumulated funds, we thought of our neighbors who are struggling due to COVID-19,” adding, “We hope the funds gathered from the members’ hearts will be used valuably for the development of local welfare and care for neighbors.”

The Gwangju Family Court Family Mediation Committee (Chairman Gang-gyu Noh) donated 2 million KRW raised by committee members for the Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign to the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Sangwon Han).


The donation ceremony was held with the attendance of Chairman Gang-gyu Noh, Vice Chairman Hye-kyung Kim, General Affairs Officer Seong-sook Cha of the Gwangju Family Court Family Mediation Committee, and Secretary General Seongdo Lee of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea.


The Gwangju Family Court Family Mediation Committee has been steadily participating in the campaign from the past Hope 2019 Sharing Campaign to the current Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign, contributing to the development of local social welfare.
