[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) announced on the 27th that it signed a contract at its headquarters in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, to introduce the 'Seven Luck Anma Therapy (Health Keeper)'.
Health Keeper was introduced as part of the 2018 agreement between GKL and the Korea Disabled Development Institute for 'Activation of Priority Purchase of Products by Severely Disabled Persons and Creation of Jobs for Disabled Persons.' It is a health promotion program in which visually impaired massage therapists, affiliated with the Korea Anma Association and holding national qualifications, provide customized massages to employees working at Seven Luck workplaces, where musculoskeletal disorders are likely to occur due to long hours of repetitive motions.
With the introduction of Health Keeper, GKL employees receive help in preventing musculoskeletal disorders and relieving pain, thereby improving work efficiency, while visually impaired massage therapists are provided with stable full-time jobs.
At the contract signing ceremony, Kim Yeji, a member of the People Power Party, said, "As the saying goes, jobs are the best welfare. The Health Keeper program holds very significant meaning for guaranteeing the livelihood and independence of visually impaired massage therapists," adding, "I hope Health Keeper becomes a model case and serves as an example for creating employment opportunities for disabled persons."
