[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] THQ (The HQ) is accelerating its expansion of market share in the U.S. antenna market by securing orders for 5G antennas.
On the 27th, THQ announced that it had secured orders worth $920,000 (1.1 billion KRW) for 5G small cell antennas destined for the Americas from its U.S. local sales subsidiary, Gamma Nu Theta, Inc.
With continuous increases in 5G antenna orders from the largest telecommunications company in the U.S., THQ achieved export results worth 5.1 billion KRW this year despite the COVID-19 pandemic. From the second half of the year, despite global supply bottlenecks, the company has steadily increased its market share by establishing and implementing supply plans of "right time, right place, right quantity" through close communication with the market and customers.
Going forward, as the product and brand awareness of ‘Gamma Nu Antenna’ expands in the U.S. market, THQ plans to secure new customers such as nationwide network telecommunications operators in the U.S. and Canada.
Additionally, the construction of 5G mid-band (C-Band) for small cell antennas is scheduled to proceed in the U.S. Accordingly, THQ plans to actively supply Small Cell antennas that meet market demands.
A company official stated, “The results of THQ’s five years of antenna development and product certification efforts since establishing the U.S. sales subsidiary are becoming visible,” adding, “Since awareness of THQ’s antenna products and brand has been secured, we expect to increase our market share in the growing U.S. 5G antenna market.”
He continued, “We also plan to accelerate expansion into new global markets such as Japan and Europe,” and added, “Based on this, we expect to achieve meaningful results in the antenna division next year as well.”
