Gurye-gun Return-to-Farming and Return-to-Village Association Receives Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for Volunteer Service Excellence

The Return-to-Farming and Rural Migration Association Awarded Top Honor in Jeonnam Talent Donation Volunteer Program Evaluation

[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Mi-seok] Jeollanam-do Gurye-gun (Governor Kim Soon-ho) announced on the 24th that the Gurye-gun Returning Farmers and Returning Villagers Association received the Minister of the Interior and Safety Award for Volunteer Service Merit at the final evaluation meeting of the Jeonnam Blue Talent Volunteer Group.

The Gurye-gun Returning Farmers and Returning Villagers Association is an organization formed by people who returned to farming in Gurye-gun, and since establishing a volunteer team in 2010, they have been actively communicating with local residents through volunteer activities.

Members donate their talents to provide volunteer services such as wallpapering, flooring, repairing old electrical wiring, and boiler repairs for vulnerable groups in the region. As part of the Jeonnam Blue Volunteer Group, they have contributed to creating a warm Jeonnam by improving housing for vulnerable groups in other cities and counties.

Lee Hee-sik, president of the Returning Farmers and Returning Villagers Association, said, "I only donated my talents to help the welfare-disadvantaged groups even a little, so I am deeply moved to receive such a great award," and added, "I will continue to contribute to helping local residents through ongoing volunteer activities."

Meanwhile, Kim Soon-ho, governor of Gurye-gun, said, "I deeply appreciate the passionate volunteer activities of the Returning Farmers and Returning Villagers Association, who showed love through unwavering service and dedication even during this difficult year due to COVID-19," and added, "We will develop and operate various programs to further activate volunteer work."
