Gochang-gun Hosts Award Ceremony for 'Gochang Studies Outstanding Thesis Contest'


[Gochang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jaegil] A research paper on the high-end furniture 'Bandaji' produced in the Gochang area of Jeonbuk has been published, attracting attention.


On the 24th, Gochang-gun held an awards ceremony for the 'Gochang Studies Excellent Research Paper Contest,' conducted to revitalize 'Gochang Studies' and secure professional researchers, which was held the day before.


The grand prize was awarded to Researcher Park Kyungsook (completed doctoral course in Cultural Archaeology and Anthropology at Chonnam National University, Daily通Culture Research Institute) for 'A Study on Bandaji in the Gochang Area - Focusing on Field Surveys.'


The research method, which includes field surveys and measurements as regional studies, as well as collecting and analyzing related stories, was highly evaluated.


The '2021 Gochang Studies Excellent Research Paper Contest,' held for the first time this year, received submissions from March to September and selected a total of five excellent papers.


The excellence award went to 'Analysis of the Ripple Effects of COVID-19 on the Tourism Sector in Gochang-gun - Hajon Mudflat Experience Village' (Researcher Park Yunseon, Invited Researcher at the Sustainable Strategy Research Division, Korea Environment Institute).


The encouragement awards were given to 'A Study on the Seated Buddha Relief Statue at Dongbulamji, Seonunsa Temple in Gochang' (Researcher An Yeo-jin, completed doctoral course in Archaeology and Art History at Wonkwang University) and 'The Impact of Cultural Capital Capacity in the Gochang Area on Improving Residents' Quality of Life' (Researcher Kim Yunhwa, Assistant Professor, Department of Human Social Welfare, Induk University).


The university student award was given to 'Changes in Ancient Burial Mounds in the Gochang Area' (3rd year, Department of History, Mokpo National University).


Oh Taejong, Director of Culture and Arts, said, "The abundant academic research achievements on Gochang's history and culture are encouraging," and added, "We will help more researchers and residents understand Gochang through the publication of a collection of papers in the future."
