Delivered to 9 Welfare Fundraising Associations in Seoul, Daejeon, Yeosu, Ulsan, and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Kumho Petrochemical announced that it donated a total of 150 million KRW collected from employees' "Kkeutjeon Seonggeum" to local social welfare organizations at each business site to share warm kindness at the end of the year.
"Kkeutjeon Seonggeum" is a donation fund created by deducting amounts less than 1,000 KRW from the salaries of Kumho Petrochemical employees. The company separately prepares a matching grant equal to the amount collected from employees and delivers it together with the Kkeutjeon Seonggeum to welfare centers. Kumho Petrochemical's Kkeutjeon Seonggeum donation has been carried out annually since 1991 with the purpose of gathering small individual contributions from employees to deliver great warmth.
This year's Kkeutjeon Seonggeum was raised with participation from seven business sites nationwide, including the Seoul headquarters and Daejeon Central Research Institute, and was delivered to a total of nine local welfare fundraising organizations at each site. In particular, the Kkeutjeon Seonggeum from employees at Kumho Petrochemical's Seoul headquarters has been delivered annually since 2007 to the Dongbang Social Welfare Association located in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, and is used to support marginalized groups in need during the year-end season.
In addition to the Kkeutjeon Seonggeum, Kumho Petrochemical is leading efforts to create a warm society by helping marginalized groups through customized assistive devices donations for people with severe disabilities, support for white canes for the visually impaired, and window replacements at welfare facilities.
