[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Integrated security platform company Ginience announced that it has been designated as an 'Excellent Corporate Research Institute for the second half of 2021,' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Association.
The Excellent Corporate Research Institute designation is available to small and medium-sized enterprises with outstanding technological innovation achievements that have operated a corporate research institute for more than three years. The evaluation mainly assesses corporate capabilities and research and development (R&D) capabilities. Designation is made through presentation evaluation, on-site evaluation, and comprehensive evaluation.
Becoming an Excellent Corporate Research Institute provides incentives such as receiving a plaque, various promotional supports, government awards, and additional points for national R&D projects.
Since its establishment in 2005, Ginience has operated an affiliated research institute. More than 70% of the total workforce consists of technical personnel, and while core developers have long-term tenure, the company continuously secures excellent development talent.
It is committed to creating a work environment conducive to research and development. It has established evaluation and reward systems based on research allowances and incentives for R&D activities, and has obtained ISO 27001 and Cloud Service Security Certification (CASP) to ensure quality and stability from the development stage.
Ginience has been recognized for its technological competitiveness overseas, being the only company listed in the Asia-Pacific region by global research firms such as Gartner and Frost & Sullivan. With numerous domestic and international customers and internalization of leading technologies through its U.S. subsidiary, it is expected to continuously secure technological competitiveness in the future.
Kim Seongcheol, Director of Ginience Technology Research Institute, said, "Through the government's corporate R&D support policies and systematic nurturing of research institutes, technological innovation competitiveness and qualitative growth are being achieved." He added, "Having secured global technological competitiveness, we will make every effort to strengthen the status of Korean security software not only in the domestic market but also in overseas markets."
