[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] SK Broadband is expanding customer content experiences through the first-ever domestic IPTV collaboration with ‘Apple TV 4K’.
According to industry sources on the 23rd, SK Broadband partnered with Apple to provide Apple TV 4K to B tv customers starting from the launch of Apple TV 4K on the 4th of last month. The Apple TV application (app) and the online video service (OTT) ‘Apple TV Plus (+)’ are also available through some B tv set-top boxes.
When customers purchase and install Apple TV 4K through SK Broadband, they can enjoy B tv live broadcast channels, TV programs and movies within the Apple TV app, and other video-on-demand (VOD) services all at once. When Apple TV 4K is turned on, the B tv app is automatically installed and switches to B tv without separate authentication upon access.
Apple TV 4K offers Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos features, 4K HDR display, and immersive sound, providing customers with a theater-like experience. iPhone and iPad users can enjoy videos and music on a larger screen using the ‘AirPlay’ feature. Additionally, various OTT services such as Apple TV+, Wavve, and Disney Plus (+) can be subscribed to all at once for convenience.
On the streaming service Apple TV+, users can enjoy Apple original works. This includes the first Korean original starring actor Lee Sun-kyun, ‘Dr. Brain,’ the globally famous comedy series ‘Ted Lasso,’ and ‘The Morning Show’ starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.
SK Broadband offers Apple TV 4K for 6,600 KRW per month on a 36-month installment plan (sale). Customers who purchase through SK Broadband and use B tv can experience Apple TV+ free for up to 6 months, and existing B tv subscribers can try Apple TV+ free for 3 months through a separate code.
