Samhwa Paint Releases NCS 950 Color Book Featuring Data Matrix Code Application

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jonghwa] Samhwa Paint Industrial Co., Ltd. launched the 'SAMHWA-NCS Collection 950' color book featuring a Data Matrix code on the 21st.

In 2012, Samhwa Paint formed a strategic partnership with NCS color AB (NCS), a Swedish color specialist company with the world's best color system. Since then, Samhwa Paint and NCS have selected colors frequently used across industries and daily life to systematize 950 colors in the 'SAMHWA-NCS Collection 950' color book, which has been released annually.

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the first color book release, the upgraded 'SAMHWA-NCS Collection 950' color book now includes a Data Matrix code. The Data Matrix Code is a 2D barcode coded with data like a QR code, allowing color information to be automatically read by scanning the code with a scanner or mobile phone.

At paint sales agencies, this Data Matrix code can drastically reduce human errors such as delivering incorrectly mixed paint due to manual input of color codes. The newly released color book is scheduled to be distributed to Samhwa Paint agencies nationwide in January next year.

Lee Sanghee, Head of the Samhwa Paint Color Design Center, stated, "As the first color book in the domestic paint industry to apply the Data Matrix code, we expect to maximize user convenience," adding, "Samhwa Paint will continue to provide services aligned with the changing digital era to agencies and customers."
