[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] Gyeongsangnam-do and the Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Platform General Operation Center launched the Industry-Academia Innovation Policy Advisory TF on the 20th in the General Operation Center's main conference room to discover new industry policies and industry-academia innovation policies.


The Industry-Academia Innovation Policy Advisory TF is responsible for roles such as industry-academia cooperation and technology development, developing demand-centered industry-academia cooperation models, linking USG shared university students to employment in local companies, and preparing measures to foster the intelligent information industry.


Park Min-won, head of the Gyeongnam Changwon Smart Green Industrial Complex Project Group, and Sung In-su, Ulsan City Industry-Academia Innovation Policy Advisor, serve as co-team leaders of the TF.


Jung Min-young, president of the Gyeongnam ICT Association; Oh Kyung-jin, vice president of Taerim Industry; Moon Gwi-dong, head of Dassault Systemes Yeongnam Regional Headquarters; Jang Seok-hoon, director of the Gyeongnam Changwon Small Giant R&D Special Zone; and Ha Jeong-su, manager of the Gyeongnam Province Integrated Education Promotion Team, were appointed as expert committee members.


At the launch ceremony, discussions on the development plan for Ulsan-Gyeongnam industry-academia cooperation were held, and a mutual cooperation agreement was signed between the Gyeongnam ICT Association and the local ICT-based manufacturing service industry for development.


Jang Kwang-soo, director of the Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Platform General Operation Center, said, "I hope the activities of the Industry-Academia Innovation Policy Advisory TF will serve as an opportunity for local talents and companies to meet and contribute to regional economic development," adding, "I expect it to become a communication channel for industry-academia cooperation so that talents nurtured through the USG shared university can be employed by excellent local companies, creating a virtuous cycle where youth can settle in the region."


The Ulsan-Gyeongnam Regional Innovation Platform is a project aimed at promoting regional coexistence and national balanced development by creating a sustainable virtuous ecosystem among local governments, universities, and companies.


Since June, the project has been in its second year, involving 13 universities and 62 regional innovation institutions centered around Ulsan City and Gyeongsangnam-do.
