On the 20th, MBC announced the lineup for the '2021 MBC Gayo Daejejeon: TOGETHER,' which will be held on December 31 and January 1 of next year.
The Gayo Daejejeon will bring together the leading figures who shone in 2021, including singer Lim Young-woong, groups MAMAMOO, Red Velvet, Oh My Girl, Brave Girls, ASTRO, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, NCT U, THE BOYZ, Stray Kids, ITZY, STAYC, aespa, Lee Mujin, and IVE.
Additionally, the event will feature legendary artists across generations such as 'the godmother of folk songs' Yang Hee-eun, 'all-time trot legend' Kim Yeon-ja, 'national band' YB, 'the protagonist of the trot syndrome' Song Ga-in, and Lim Young-woong, promising to present timeless songs that will inspire everyone to sing along.
Cheerful Celeb Five, the unit M.O.M from MSG Wannabe?who gained great love as a project group on this year's MBC variety show 'How Do You Play?'?and Jeong Sang-gi will also appear.
The MBC Gayo Daejejeon production team announced, "We had planned to have an audience for the live broadcast on the 31st, but due to strengthened COVID-19 prevention guidelines, the event will be held without an audience."
They added, "We have prepared a diverse range of performances not only from idol singers but also from musicians in genres such as folk, trot, indie, and rock. We hope everyone can safely sing along to familiar songs at home and welcome a meaningful and harmonious New Year together."
This year's MBC Gayo Daejejeon, fitting the theme 'TOGETHER,' which implies the special meaning of enjoying the event collectively, will feature 36 K-POP artists who shone throughout the year performing together on stage.
The event will be hosted by Lim Yoon-ah, who has been an MC for seven years, Lee Junho from the MBC drama 'The Red Sleeve Cuff,' and broadcaster Jang Sung-kyu.
