Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, 72 Autonomous Regulations Enacted and Revised in 2021

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education has completed the enactment and revision of a total of 72 autonomous regulations this year.


According to the Office of Education on the 20th, the enacted and revised autonomous regulations include 40 proposed by council members and 32 proposed by the Superintendent of Education.


Specifically, there are 25 cases in the field of educational support such as the ordinance supporting school admission preparation, 10 cases in safety management, 18 cases reflecting amendments to higher laws and recommendations from the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, and 19 cases related to internal organization and personnel management for autonomous regulation maintenance.


The Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education plans to actively identify areas requiring enactment and revision of autonomous regulations to enhance school educational capacity and improve student welfare, and to timely reflect amendments to higher laws to prevent inconveniences caused by unmaintained autonomous regulations.


Hyun Kyung-sik, head of the Education Autonomy Division at the Office of Education, stated, "We will continue to inspect autonomous regulations, including relevant ordinances, to ensure their legality and effectiveness, and to enhance the credibility of educational administration."
