Gurye-gun Conducts Pre-Inspection of Vulnerable Sections to Prepare for Winter Cold Waves and Heavy Snowfall

[Gurye=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yuk Miseok] Kim Sunho, the governor of Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, held a policy discussion meeting with department heads on the 20th and urged proactive handling of current issues across the county administration, including ordering a point-by-point inspection to respond to winter natural disasters such as cold waves and heavy snowfall.

At the discussion meeting, Governor Kim instructed a pre-inspection of vulnerable areas to prepare for winter natural disasters, followed by directives for preliminary preparations for next year’s major projects, promotion of Jeollanam-do’s small business daily recovery support funds, publicity of COVID-19 quarantine rules due to strengthened prevention measures, and thorough establishment of year-end public service discipline, emphasizing flawless management of county affairs.

Gurye-gun plans to maintain a situation transmission system to respond quickly when situations arise as the winter season, during which cold wave or heavy snow warnings frequently occur, approaches, and will conduct pre-inspections of winter natural disasters focusing on habitual freezing sections.

The main inspection items include checking the storage condition of snow removal equipment and material placement in vulnerable areas such as roads to ensure active response in case of emergencies. If the management status is found to be insufficient during inspections, repair work will be carried out to make Gurye safe even in winter.

Additionally, to prevent freezing damage frequently occurring to water meters and other facilities during cold waves, the county will actively promote freezing prevention and freezing damage response guidelines through village broadcasts and neighborhood newsletters.

In particular, the policy is to create a warm Gurye in winter by identifying whether there is any damage or need for assistance among vulnerable groups as well as facilities.

Governor Kim Sunho instructed, “Do your best in pre-inspections to prevent accidents that occur every winter in advance,” and ordered, “Maintain the situation system so that immediate action can be taken when winter civil complaints arise.”
