On the 20th, Kim Jong-in, the head of the People Power Party's overall election committee, pointed out at a Central Election Committee meeting held at the National Assembly, "Despite the heavy responsibilities of the presidential candidates who will take office next year, the political scene seems to be engaged in a negative war."
He continued, "I want to clearly urge the political circles," adding, "Considering the various crises our country will face next year, the candidates running for president should focus on how to solve these problems. I hope the negative war will stop and the debate will focus on these issues."
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party stressed the necessity of verification. Park Kwang-on, the Democratic Party's election committee spokesperson, said, "Is it appropriate to view verification as negativity? Constantly confirming and reporting is one of the primary duties of the media, and political parties should not neglect this task either."
