Umi Construction Provides Scholarships to Descendants of National Merit Recipients through Geumpa Foundation

Woomi Construction announced on the 20th that it provided scholarships to descendants of national merit recipients in 2021 through the Geumpa Foundation, which was established by the company.

The Geumpa Foundation selected a total of 52 recipients after receiving recommendations from local community organizations supporting national merit recipients and conducting evaluations. Established in 2006, the Geumpa Foundation has supported approximately 1,400 individuals with scholarships totaling 1.42 billion KRW over 16 years to support future generations.

A representative from Woomi Construction stated, "The Geumpa Foundation, established to contribute to the local community and fair social development, plans to expand its social contribution activities as well as increase the scope and fields of scholarship recipients."

Meanwhile, the Geumpa Foundation is also running the ‘Woomi Dream Finder’ career exploration support program for children and youth from families affected by construction industry accidents. The ‘Woomi Dream Finder’ social contribution project was designed to alleviate educational inequality through practical support and to provide opportunities for healthy growth. In addition, the Geumpa Foundation is engaged in various projects, including supporting research on cultural heritage verification and developing historical education programs, such as digitally restoring the Joseon Dynasty government office Gun-gi-si (軍器寺) and the royal ceremonies of Gyeongbokgung Palace.
