[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Custom order platform Kakao Makers announced on the 20th that it has achieved a cumulative transaction amount of 500 billion KRW.
This comes just six months after surpassing a cumulative transaction amount of 400 billion KRW in June. Kakao Makers, which started its service in 2016, operates on a 'group order' model.
This year, Kakao Makers focused on various activities to coexist with local communities. They introduced products and services for 'value consumption,' such as holding events to support farms and expanding customer participation donation campaigns.
To help local farms struggling with sales expansion due to consumption slowdown and economic recession caused by COVID-19, they held 'agricultural specialty product inventory clearance' events. This year, they conducted a total of seven group orders for agricultural specialty products, and in the case of Gangwon-do, held five sales events through a business agreement (MOU).
They have also steadily released various self-produced products that allow customers to practice donations through purchases. For example, the 'Chunsikiwahamkkehaeyeolmae' donation badge, released in collaboration with 'Sarangui Yeolmae,' sold all 5,000 units. In addition, they introduced projects to create products for descendants of independence activists, help stray cats, and support vulnerable elderly people, offering opportunities to care for marginalized individuals in daily life.
A Kakao Makers official said, "We will further expand the value of commerce by adding coexistence and donation to curation commerce, which selects and introduces products that solve inconveniences or provide new value."
