[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] LG Electronics announced on the 20th that it will sequentially launch the LG UltraGear gaming-specialized laptop, which allows for comfortable high-spec gaming, starting next month in the domestic market and then globally.

The LG UltraGear gaming laptop is a product that combines high performance with design and user convenience, and it received the Innovation Award at CES 2022, the world's largest home appliance and IT exhibition held next month, from the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) in the United States.

This product is equipped with Intel's latest 11th generation processor (Tiger Lake H) and NVIDIA's high-performance laptop graphics card (RTX3080 Max-Q), providing a fast and comfortable environment even when running high-spec games. The memory and storage (SSD) both support dual channels, offering excellent expandability.

The 17.3-inch (approximately 43 cm diagonal) IPS display enhances gaming immersion. The refresh rate, which refers to the number of frames per second, reaches up to 300 Hz. LG Electronics explained that in 300 Hz mode, a 1 ms (one-thousandth of a second) response time is achieved, allowing fast-changing screens to be displayed smoothly and clearly.

Despite being equipped with a large-capacity 93Wh battery, the total weight is less than 2.7 kg, making it highly portable. The thickness at the thickest part is 21.4 mm, giving it a slim design. A vapor chamber cooling system is also applied to ensure stable operation even during long hours of high-spec gaming.

Stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra surround sound are included. The full-size keyboard, including the numeric keypad, features backlighting that can produce lighting effects synchronized with games or be customized according to user preferences. Users can easily adjust hardware performance such as the central processing unit (CPU) and graphics processing unit (GPU) to suit games by using LG Electronics' proprietary gaming software, 'LG UltraGear Studio.'

Seo Young-jae, Executive Vice President and Head of LG Electronics' IT Business Division, said, "This new product, equipped with various performances optimized for high-spec gaming, will satisfy customers' needs."
