"7,000 Party Members Gathered in Just One Month"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Former Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Kim Dong-yeon was inaugurated as the first party leader through the founding convention of the 'Saerounmulgyeol' central party on the afternoon of the 19th.
Kim, who was elected through a member consensus nomination method, said in his acceptance speech, "Although there was not a single common politician, no money, and no organization, 7,000 party members gathered within a month to establish five regional parties," adding, "We will create three major currents: a wave that sweeps away corruption, a wave that creates more equitable opportunities, and a wave that changes the entrenched two-party politics."
Kim stated, "South Korea is currently collapsing due to the entrenched two-party structure," and said, "We are founding this party for change and reform through the collective intelligence of citizens and a 'bottom-up rebellion.'"
