[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, paid tribute at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on the 17th, marking the 10th anniversary of Kim Jong-il, Chairman of the National Defense Commission.
The Korean Central News Agency reported on the 18th, "Comrade Kim Jong-un visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on the 17th." Present at the site were members of the Party Political Bureau Standing Committee, including Choe Ryong-hae, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly, Jo Yong-won, Party Organization Secretary, Kim Tok-hun, Premier of the Cabinet, Pak Jong-chon, Party Secretary, along with senior officials from the Cabinet and central institutions. Kim Jong-un's wife, Ri Sol-ju, did not accompany him.
At the site, General Secretary Kim offered a solemn prayer for eternal life to the General, who "raised the red flag of Juche throughout his life, devoted everything to the great cause for the homeland and the people, and firmly laid the foundation for the dignity and prosperity of future generations," the news agency conveyed.
