Mujugun Confirms New Year Budget of 463.5 Billion Won


[Muju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Han-ho] Muju County's 2022 New Year budget has been finalized at 463.5 billion KRW.


The Muju County Council held the 7th plenary session of the 288th regular meeting on the 15th and finally passed the 2022 main budget requested for review by Muju County.


This is an increase of 25.4 billion KRW (5.81%) compared to the initial 2021 budget of 408.1 billion KRW.


Among this, the general account was finalized at 415.6 billion KRW, an increase of 24.9 billion KRW from this year.


The budget was composed of resources including local taxes of 18.5 billion KRW, non-tax revenue of 14.1 billion KRW, local allocation tax of 217.2 billion KRW, adjustment grants of 7.5 billion KRW, subsidies of 135.2 billion KRW, and internal transactions such as compensation income of 23 billion KRW.


The special account is at a scale of 47.9 billion KRW, an increase of 567 million KRW from this year.


The major sectoral increase allocations are ▲general public administration sector 21.4 billion KRW (33.90%↑) ▲education sector 4.8 billion KRW (40.48%↑) ▲culture and tourism sector 43.9 billion KRW (13.69%↑) ▲environment sector 69.2 billion KRW (3.61%↑) ▲social welfare sector 73.9 billion KRW (3.39%↑) ▲health sector 11 billion KRW (39.93%↑) ▲agriculture, forestry, marine, and fisheries sector 15.6 billion KRW (19.66%↑) ▲transportation and logistics sector 18.9 billion KRW (3.87%↑), etc.


The next year's budget formulation is characterized as a stepping stone to complete the promises made with the residents during the 7th elected term and to prepare for the start of the 8th elected term, focusing on smooth administration, rapid recovery of daily life, and new changes in Muju.


In particular, through continuous visits to central government departments and active efforts to increase the budget, the ordinary allocation tax increased to the largest scale ever (51.3 billion KRW), enabling the resolution of various demands of residents and the smooth promotion of major key projects and pending tasks.


Hwang In-hong, Muju County Governor, said, “As this budget is formulated focusing on Muju County’s new leap in line with the new transition period and the rapid recovery of daily life in the stage of daily recovery, we will do our best to execute it promptly and efficiently without waste.”
