A Total of 8.1 Billion Won to Be Invested in the Construction of Ogok-myeon Administrative and Cultural Complex Community Center
[Gokseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Cha Jongseon] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has secured 3.1 billion KRW in national funds after being selected for the 2021 Urban Regeneration Recognition Project competition hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The Urban Regeneration Recognition Project was newly established following the revision of the Enforcement Decree of the Urban Regeneration Activation and Support Act in 2019.
It is a point-based urban regeneration project aimed at supporting living SOC facilities in areas where basic living facilities are underdeveloped.
With this project selection, Gokseong-gun plans to build a complex community center in Ogok-myeon.
Utilizing the site of the myeon office, the center will be constructed as a three-story building (total floor area of 2,370㎡), with a total investment of 8.1 billion KRW including national funds.
The community center will house the myeon office, youth activity spaces, and cultural and artistic spaces.
To apply for the project, Gokseong-gun collaborated with LH Land and Housing University to diagnose the region's past and present and prepare the project plan.
Afterward, through document evaluation, on-site inspection, comprehensive evaluation, and deliberation by the Ministry of Land's Urban Regeneration Special Committee, it was finally selected.
An official from the county stated, “Through this project, we will create effective spaces to improve residents' quality of life and revitalize Ogok-myeon.”
