Yeongam-gun Achieves Four Consecutive Years as an Excellent Job Institution in Jeonnam

Awarded 'Excellence Prize' in Job Creation Sector

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do, received the 'Grand Prize' institutional commendation as a result of being selected as an excellent city/county in the job creation sector conducted by Jeollanam-do in 2021, achieving the great feat of winning for four consecutive years along with a prize money of 20 million won.

According to the county on the 17th, Jeollanam-do annually evaluates policies in the job creation sector targeting 22 cities and counties with the goal of realizing a Jeonnam where young people return through good job creation, selecting excellent cities and counties. The evaluation was conducted on 16 items across six areas including employment indicators, job creation budget, jobs for youth, middle-aged, and vulnerable groups, and differentiated job policies from other cities and counties.

As a result of the evaluation, Yeongam-gun received the highest score among county-level units with an employment rate of 72.4%, an increase of 2.1% compared to the previous year, and a job creation budget accounting for 27.1%.

In addition, efforts were made to revitalize employment in the Daebul National Industrial Complex and stabilize the shipbuilding industry through the operation of the Western Jeonnam Workers' Health Center, the welfare center for domestic and foreign workers in the Daebul Industrial Complex, support for the four major insurance premiums for newly hired workers in small and medium shipbuilding companies, and support for dormitory rental fees in industrial complexes.
