Gift Certificate Giveaway for Pre-Orders of Holiday Gifts Starting from the 24th
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] AK Plaza announced on the 17th that it will begin pre-order sales of Lunar New Year holiday gifts at all its food halls starting from the 24th.
AK Plaza is advancing the timing of this year’s pre-order sales earlier than in previous years. This is about ten days earlier compared to the usual start date, which was one month before the holiday. This decision was made as more customers are preparing gifts in advance due to the spread of COVID-19.
AK Plaza stated, "We expect many customers will still prefer to express their feelings through gifts rather than visiting their hometowns due to ongoing COVID-19 and variant viruses during this Lunar New Year. Therefore, we have expanded the selection and quantity of popular items such as Korean beef and fruits. With strengthened quarantine measures, we anticipate increased demand for items related to drinking alone and home parties, such as wine, marriage (pairing), steak, as well as health supplements and ingredients related to self-care, so we have added new brands and product lines."
Additionally, the holiday guidebook has been improved to assist customers in making choices. The curation page recommends gift sets tailored to various situations, recipients, and trends, and provides information and emotional stories about fruits such as dan-gam (persimmon), gotgam (dried persimmon), and hallabong (a type of citrus), including their origins and the stories of master artisans.
Meanwhile, AK Mall, the online comprehensive shopping mall operated by AK Plaza, will also start selling holiday gifts from the 27th. Using AK Mall, customers can utilize the "contactless gifting" service, which allows sending gifts by simply knowing the recipient’s phone number.
AK Plaza’s Lunar New Year pre-orders will be held for 21 days from the 24th at all food halls including Bundang, Suwon, and Pyeongtaek, until January 13 of next year. Customers who purchase over 200,000 KRW using an AK Card will receive gift certificates worth 5% of the purchase amount. A promotion offering 7% gift certificates based on purchase amount will also be available exclusively for Korean beef gift sets and Jeonggwanjang brand products. For more details, please refer to the notices inside the stores.
