[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Porsche Korea announced on the 16th that it will launch five new '911 GTS' models: the 911 Carrera GTS Coupe and Cabriolet, the all-wheel-drive 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupe and Cabriolet, and the 911 Targa 4 GTS.
The '911 GTS' is equipped with a turbocharged 3.0ℓ flat-six engine, delivering a maximum output of 490 horsepower and peak torque of 58.2 kg·m. The '911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupe' with an 8-speed Porsche Dual-Clutch (PDK) transmission accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. The 911 Targa 4 GTS achieves 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.
Additionally, the GTS-exclusive suspension equipped with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and the high-performance brake system from the 911 Turbo have been applied. For the first time in the GTS lineup, the lightweight design package is available, which reduces weight by up to 25 kg through lighter carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) full bucket seats, lightweight glass for the side and rear windows, and a lightweight battery.
The suspension derived from the 911 Turbo has been tuned specifically for the GTS. Porsche Korea explained that the responsiveness of the dampers has improved due to the standard PASM. Especially, the Coupe and Cabriolet come standard with PASM and a sports chassis lowered by 10 mm.
Porsche has adjusted the braking performance to match the GTS's capabilities and applied the high-performance brake system from the 911 Turbo. The front 20-inch and rear 21-inch black center-lock alloy wheels used on the 911 Turbo are fitted, and the standard sports exhaust system features a GTS-exclusive setup with some interior sound insulation materials removed.
The exterior of the 911 GTS features black elements finished in silk and high gloss throughout. It is characterized by contrasting black body elements and dark headlight areas, giving it a sporty appearance. The 911 Targa 4 GTS includes its unique hoop and Targa lettering, with the spoiler lip, center-lock alloy wheels, engine cover louvers, vehicle doors, and rear GTS lettering all finished in black silk gloss. The exterior package, including high-gloss black elements and other details, is offered as an optional feature.
All 911 GTS models come with a sports design package applied to the front, rear, and side sills. The headlight rims and daytime running light surrounds are dark tinted, and LED headlights equipped with the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus) are standard.
The interior also features many black elements. Race-Tex material is applied to create a dynamic and elegant atmosphere. The central part of the seats, steering wheel rim, door handles and armrests, storage compartment covers, and gear lever are all finished in Race-Tex. The decorative stitching of the GTS interior package is optionally available in Carmine Red or Crayon colors. The seat belts, headrests embossed with GTS lettering, tachometer, and Sport Chrono clock are highlighted in contrasting colors.
Furthermore, the new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, with enhanced connectivity through a new display and operation concept, is installed. The media menu touch area has been expanded, and a new option allows rearranging the home screen layout. Smartphone functions can be used directly in the vehicle via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The starting prices for the new 911 GTS are 194.9 million KRW for the 911 Carrera GTS Coupe and 210.7 million KRW for the Cabriolet. The 911 Carrera 4 GTS Coupe and Cabriolet are priced at 204.1 million KRW and 219.9 million KRW, respectively. The 911 Targa 4 GTS is priced at 219.9 million KRW.
