The Jeongongno Suncheon City Branch confirmed that "a lower-ranking public official in the council secretariat has been severely hurt and is finding it difficult to work due to personal disrespect from the chairman," and added, "Disrespectful remarks, creating hostile situations, and intentionally ostracizing acts are a heavy burden and pain for powerless lower-ranking public officials. The chairman, who abused his position to engage in such abusive behavior, is demanded to publicly apologize to the approximately 1,500 public officials."
Regarding the "Press Conference Urging the Voluntary Resignation of the Suncheon City Council Chairman," which involved 12 council members, they stated, "The chairman has the authority to refer bills but also has obligations. Not referring agenda items to the standing committee based solely on the chairman's personal judgment is considered an act against the principle of representative democracy in local councils," and urged, "In council operations, we call for a change in attitude towards democratic council management that prioritizes public interest over private interests."
In response to this situation, Chairman Heo Yu-in announced that he will hold a press conference regarding the current issues at around 11 a.m. tomorrow in the chairman's office of the Suncheon City Council.
