Dongseo University Hosts Autumn Academic Conference of the Korean Association of Chinese Studies

Dongseo University Hosts Autumn Academic Conference of the Korean Association of Chinese Studies Award recipients at the Korean Association for Chinese Studies Autumn Academic Conference are taking a commemorative photo.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Dongseo University held the Fall Academic Conference of the Korean Association for Chinese Studies on the 11th under the theme "Research Methodology in Chinese Studies and the Vision of Chinese Studies."


The academic conference was co-hosted by Dongseo University Confucius Academy, the Korean Association for Chinese Studies, and Pukyong National University Global China Research Institute, and organized by the Korean Association for Chinese Studies.


At the conference, a total of 25 papers were presented across five divisions: Special Division, Chinese Linguistics, Chinese Literature, Chinese Social Sciences, and Next-Generation Scholars.


At the fall academic conference, outstanding papers with high academic research value published in the journal of the Korean Association for Chinese Studies are selected annually for academic awards. The academic awards are sponsored by the World Chinese Character Society.


Professor Ahn Seung-woong of Pukyong National University and Professor Kim Tae-wan of Chonnam National University received the academic awards.


The New Researcher Award, established to encourage the academic growth of emerging researchers, was awarded to Professor Lee Seo-hyun of Youngsan University.


The Excellent Reviewer Award was given to Professor Kim Myung-shin of Hanyang University, Professor Kim Sang-wook of Paichai University, Professor Park Myung-jin of Yeungnam University, Professor Lee Mi-kyung of Daegu University, and Professor Jin Nam of Kosin University.


The journal "Chinese Studies," registered with the Korea Research Foundation, is published quarterly (March, June, September, December) every year.


Founded in 1983, the Korean Association for Chinese Studies has over 1,000 scholars and experts related to Chinese studies as members.


The association has established awards such as the Academic Award, Outstanding Paper Award, New Researcher Award, Excellent Reviewer Award, and Merit Award to honor researchers.


On the 18th, the Korean Association for Chinese Studies and the Chinese Humanities Association will jointly hold the Fall Joint International Academic Conference.


The conference, held at Chonnam National University, will be conducted online under the theme "Chinese Humanities Discourse in the New Normal Era."


Kim Young-gi, president of the Korean Association for Chinese Studies, said, "The new normal era demands a paradigm shift from us," adding, "In this regard, the discourse on Chinese studies and Korea-China cultural exchange holds significant meaning."
