Kim Dong-hoon Re-elected as President of the Korea Journalists Association with 77.7% Approval... Kim Dong-hoon, the 48th President of the Korea Journalists Association


[Asia Economy Reporter Tae-min Ryu] The Korea Journalists Association announced on the 13th that the 48th president election results confirmed the reappointment of the 47th president Kim Dong-hoon.


President Kim was the sole candidate in this election. In the text message voting conducted on the day for all members, President Kim received 3,934 votes (77.7%) in favor out of 5,060 valid votes, successfully securing reappointment. The overall voter turnout was 48.8%, with 5,060 participants out of 10,374 eligible voters.


President Kim's term as the 48th president will be two years starting from January 1st next year.


President Kim joined The Hankyoreh newspaper in 1995 and worked in the mobile reporting team, legal affairs team, political party team, and national department. He also served as the head of The Hankyoreh branch of the Journalists Association, vice president of the Journalists Association, and senior vice chairman of the National Union of Media Workers. He was elected as the 47th president of the Korea Journalists Association and is currently serving his term.


The voting on the day was conducted through a voting system verified by the Korea Journalists Association Election Management Committee, where a text message was sent to voters' mobile phones, and voters entered an authentication number and selected approval or disapproval of the candidate according to the instructions.
