SK Inno Receives 'Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation' After 4 Years... Fruits of ESG Management

[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] SK Innovation received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare for the first time in four years since 2017.

SK Innovation announced on the 13th that it was selected as a meritorious organization for protecting elderly people living alone at the '2021 Sharing Love Event' hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and organized by the Comprehensive Support Center for Elderly Living Alone, and received a commendation from the Minister of Health and Welfare.

SK Innovation was highly recognized for its efforts to secure the economic and emotional stability of vulnerable elderly people living alone, who are in the blind spots of welfare, by focusing its social contribution activities on them.

In particular, SK Innovation was positively evaluated for conducting the 'COVID-19 Overcome Mental Defense Cheer Up Untact Volunteer Service' with its members since last year to convey comfort and encouragement to elderly people living alone, who faced a crisis in psychological quarantine due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Through this program, SK Innovation members made daily quarantine supplies such as masks or directly produced dolls with recorded support messages and delivered them to elderly people living alone, making great efforts for their health and emotional stability.

Im Soo-gil, Head of SK Innovation Value Creation Center, said, "This award recognizes the warm hearts of our members who have consistently practiced volunteer activities as a social family for elderly people living alone," and added, "SK Innovation plans to continue sincere social contribution activities for marginalized elderly people living alone."
