[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] The police are conducting an autopsy to clarify the cause of death of Yuhan-gi, former head of the Development Project Headquarters at Seongnam Urban Development Corporation (66), who was found dead after an arrest warrant was issued in connection with the 'Daejang-dong scandal.'

According to the police on the 11th, the autopsy on former Head Yuhan is being conducted at the National Forensic Service from 8 a.m. today. The autopsy is expected to be completed in the morning. A police official said, "It will take some time to determine the exact cause of death."

At around 7:40 a.m. the previous day, a resident found former Head Yuhan dead in a flower bed in an apartment complex in Ilsan Seo-gu, Goyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, and reported it. The location where he was found is said to be near former Head Yuhan's residence.

The police received a report from the family around 4 a.m. on the same day that former Head Yuhan had left a suicide note and gone missing, and have been conducting a search. The specific contents of the note have not been disclosed, but it is known to have implied an extreme choice. The bereaved family expressed to the police that they do not want the contents of the note to be made public.

According to the police investigation, former Head Yuhan left his apartment complex, his residence, at around 2 a.m., two hours before the missing person report was filed. He did not take his mobile phone, so his location could not be tracked. The police believe that at around 2:55 a.m., he climbed an apartment about 200 meters from his home and fell to his death about 15 minutes later.

The prosecution, investigating the Daejang-dong development bribery and preferential treatment allegations, had earlier filed an arrest warrant for former Head Yuhan on the 9th. He is suspected of receiving 200 million won in bribes from Nam Wook, a lawyer and owner of Cheonhwa-dongin No. 4, and Jung Young-hak, an accountant and owner of Cheonhwa-dongin No. 5, affiliated with Hwacheon Daeyu, in August 2014.

The pre-arrest detention hearing for former Head Yuhan was scheduled for the 14th at the Seoul Central District Court. He has consistently denied the related allegations.
