[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Lee Jae-myung, the presidential candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, has been leaving 'verification posts' while touring major online communities. This time, he directly posted on 'FM Korea' (Femco), a community mainly used by 'Idaenam' (men in their 20s), drawing attention. This appears to be an effort to communicate directly with the younger generation and meet them at their level.
On the 9th, Lee posted a message titled "Hello. This is Lee Jae-myung" on the Femco board, opening with "Hello, Fembungis? This is Lee Jae-myung." 'Fembungi' refers to Femco users, and Femco is one of the online communities with a strong conservative leaning.
Lee said, "Since I started politics, I have been lurking daily on various communities to gather public opinion and use ideas when applicable. I've been on Femco for a while now," adding, "I felt I was quite unpopular here, so I was cautious."
He continued, "Recently, Lee Jae-myung debate videos have been posted on Femco, and there were reactions to posts about the enactment of the Fairness Act for Probability-type Items, so I came to say hello unannounced," and asked, "If I came abruptly and made you uncomfortable, I apologize, but wouldn't it be good if I read even one more policy proposal or criticism post here before leaving?"
He also said, "If you look once and twice, you might want to keep looking," adding, "I will occasionally write posts myself and reply to comments, so please leave anything and just call on me."
Furthermore, he concluded his post by saying, "Harsh words or sweet words, all are welcome. I will listen carefully, deeply engrave them in my heart, and reflect them in policies," and "I will visit often. Thank you."

Recently, Lee has been continuing his communication efforts by posting directly on mainly pro-government online communities such as the Danzi Ilbo board, Clien, Bobae Dream, and DC Inside's 'Lee Jae-myung Gallery.'
On the 7th, he also wrote a post targeting Yoon Seok-youl, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, on Bobae Dream. In a post titled "Greetings to Bobae users. This is Lee Jae-myung!" he criticized, "Although things have improved a lot, there are still people in our society who wield immense power, spread fake news, blind the eyes and ears of the people, and harm us, society, and the nation."
He said, "The opposition candidate's campaign team, whose candidate is a former prosecutor, is placing many former prosecutors at the forefront, aiming to create a prosecution state," adding, "The democratic republic of Korea must not become a state by, for, and of the prosecution, right? We must root out those who shamelessly block the people's eyes and ears with fake news and harm society."
Lee emphasized, "I will deeply engrave not only the support but also the criticism sent by Bobae members, remembering the earnest desire for fair opportunities, the belief that flowers can bloom even in the mud, and the struggles to create a fair world."
