Minor Emergency Patient with Respiratory Distress Urgently Transported from Chuja Island, Jeju

[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] A minor emergency patient who complained of breathing difficulties due to pneumothorax on Chuja Island, Jeju City, was urgently transported by the Jeju Coast Guard.

According to the Jeju Maritime Police Station on the 9th, at 3:38 PM the previous day, a report was received from the Chuja Health Center in Chuja-myeon, Jeju City, regarding Mr. A (teenage male resident of Chuja) who visited with chest pain and breathing difficulties. An X-ray diagnosis confirmed pneumothorax, and urgent transfer to a hospital in Jeju City was necessary.

Accordingly, the Jeju Coast Guard dispatched a 500-ton patrol vessel that was patrolling the waters around Chuja Island, arriving at the sea in front of Shinyang Port, Chuja Island, at around 4:30 PM.

At approximately 4:35 PM, the emergency patient Mr. A and one guardian were transferred from the Chuja Police Substation coastal rescue boat and moved to Jeju Port, arriving at 6:09 PM, where they were safely handed over to a 119 ambulance waiting nearby.

Meanwhile, this year, the Jeju Coast Guard has safely transported a total of 42 emergency patients by patrol vessels, including 31 patients from Chuja Island.
