[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Kia AutoLand Gwangju (Factory Manager: Park Rae-seok) announced on the 9th that it has signed a business agreement with Gwangju City to participate in Gwangju’s 2045 carbon neutrality initiative and realize a 2045 energy self-sufficient city.
The agreement ceremony held at the Gwangju Metropolitan City Hall Business Room was attended by Lee Yong-seop, Mayor of Gwangju, and Park Rae-seok, Factory Manager of Kia AutoLand Gwangju.
In his greeting, Mayor Lee said, “I ask Kia to join us on the path to enhancing urban competitiveness and citizens’ quality of life through the realization of the Green-Smart-Fun City Gwangju.”
Factory Manager Park stated, “Kia AutoLand Gwangju will actively participate in Gwangju Metropolitan City’s ‘2045 Carbon Neutral Energy Self-Sufficient City Realization Policy’ through energy transition projects, energy efficiency projects, and the introduction of new technologies.”
Through the agreement ceremony, Kia AutoLand Gwangju agreed to ▲expand the supply of eco-friendly vehicles through innovative technology development, ▲achieve corporate RE100 by improving production process facilities, ▲seek administrative and financial support measures to promote and spread eco-friendly vehicles, and ▲actively participate in the successful promotion of the Gwangju-type AI-Green New Deal and the reduction of greenhouse gases in daily life.
This agreement is expected to lead the carbon neutrality era, practice ESG management that fosters coexistence among the region, environment, and industry, and drive the co-growth of the eco-friendly vehicle ecosystem.
