A Genuine Story of Field Experience: 'The Child Born Backwards Changes the World'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] An Pyeonghwan, an advisory member of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development, will hold a book launch event at 3 p.m. on the 18th at the former Gwangju Urban Regeneration Community Center.
The book, titled "The Child Born Backwards Changes the World," contains the author's sincere stories of solving problems through over 27 years of experience in alleys, villages, social economy, urban regeneration, social innovation, policy development, and various experiments.
Commissioner An, a former Secretary General of Gwangju YMCA, was appointed as the inaugural CEO of the Gwangju Urban Regeneration Community Center in October 2017, establishing a solid position as a metropolitan urban regeneration center.
In particular, since 2018, he has significantly contributed to job creation by securing national funds from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport for the Gwangju Station Urban Regeneration New Deal and opening 14 field support centers, including autonomous district centers.
Due to these achievements, last year the Gwangju Urban Regeneration Community Center received the highest grade, an A rating, in the CEO leadership management evaluation.
Commissioner An said, "Based on the experience of launching the nation's first Good Neighborhood Movement and acting as a midwife for Gwangju's urban regeneration, I explored the vision of urban communities in Buk-gu and Gwangju in the With-Corona era. I want to share memories of living with the themes of village communities and urban regeneration, as well as prospects for the future."
Meanwhile, An Pyeonghwan, advisory member of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development, is known to be running for the mayoral election of Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, next year.
