Suncheon-si Promotes Workshop for Creating Small Library Hanppyeom Garden

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 9th that it will hold a workshop for operators of small libraries in Suncheon City to create Hanppyeom gardens over four sessions from tomorrow until the 18th.

In this workshop, operators of each small library will directly participate and spend time creating their own Hanppyeom gardens together with horticultural welfare specialist Lee Kyung-ah and Park Sun-young, representative of the Jeonnam Climate Environment Network in Suncheon City.

Through this, the plan is to promote a garden creation boom so that citizens visiting small libraries develop an interest in gardens and everyone can have their own small garden.

Meanwhile, a non-face-to-face seminar aimed at revitalizing the use of small libraries and strengthening the capabilities of operators has been underway for about two weeks from the 6th to the 20th.

Various practical, cultural, and humanities programs by high-level instructors such as Kim Mi-jung, president of the Korea Book Curator Association, and Park So-hee, director of Neulpureun Children's Library, are being operated.

A Suncheon City library official said, “Through this small library Hanppyeom garden creation event, we hope to more powerfully promote the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo and for Suncheon City to grow as a global ecological tourism city beyond Korea.”
