Goheung-gun, Year-End Education Development Fund Donations Continue

Institutions and Social Organizations Leading Regional Talent Development

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Jeonnam (Corporation) Goheung-gun Education Development Committee (Chairman Song Gwi-geun) announced that it held an education development fund donation ceremony at the county office executive office on the 7th and at the Uju Hall on the 8th.

At this donation ceremony, a total of about 10 million KRW was donated, including 3.36 million KRW from LX Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation Goheung Branch, 1 million KRW from Heungmujeong in Pungyang-myeon, and 5 million KRW from Choi Yoon-seon, head of the Goheung branch of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation.

LX Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation Goheung Branch has been donating 13.84 million KRW over four years since 2018, and Heungmujeong in Pungyang-myeon has been donating 2 million KRW over two years since 2020.

In particular, Choi Yoon-seon, head of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, donated 5 million KRW for local juniors ahead of his retirement in December this year. In September, Song Kyung-ok, Jeongyo of Goheung Hyanggyo (Shingi, Daeseo-myeon), won first place in the "National Classical Chinese Poetry Writing Contest" hosted by Sungkyunkwan and generously donated the entire prize money of 1 million KRW for local students, becoming a great role model for the local community.

In addition, Bonghwang Power Co., Ltd. (3 million KRW), Korea Women Farmers Association Goheung County Federation (1 million KRW), Goheung Solar Park Co., Ltd. (1 million KRW), and Chorokbom Farm (1 million KRW) also donated education development funds.

According to the county, it was stated that this donation is like rain in a drought at a time when interest and donations for the education development fund have been decreasing due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

Chairman Song Gwi-geun said, "We are grateful for the donation of funds for local education development despite the difficult times due to the spread of COVID-19, and we will spare no support to realize the precious dreams of our county students as well as the valuable nourishment for the development of education in our region."

Meanwhile, the education development fund raised by the (Corporation) Goheung-gun Education Development Committee has exceeded 23.9 billion KRW.
