Lotte Department Store will present Korea's first "Lasting Impressions" media art exhibition on the first floor of its Dongtan branch's "Eight Square" from the 17th of this month until March 13th next year.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Lotte Department Store announced on the 9th that from the 17th of this month until March 13th next year, it will showcase Korea's first "Lasting Impressions" media art exhibition on the first floor 'Eight Square' of the Dongtan branch.
In this exhibition, visitors can experience the great works of Impressionist painters through Korea's largest 3D screen measuring 18 meters wide and 4 meters high, and through immersive 3D digital technology, they can vividly feel as if they have become the protagonist of a scene in a masterpiece.
A selection of 104 world-renowned masterpieces by Impressionist painters such as Monet and Van Gogh will be presented. Representative works include Van Gogh's "Starry Night" and Monet's "Water Lilies." Ten 3D engineers spent over 160 hours on each artwork to digitally recreate them. Visitors can wear lightweight 3D glasses and comfortably sit to vividly appreciate the changing colors and light movements, not as two-dimensional flat paintings but as dynamic, shifting hues.
The exhibition starts every hour from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a running time of 45 minutes. Reservations will be available on Naver and Interpark starting from the 10th, and tickets can also be purchased on-site depending on remaining availability.
A Lotte Department Store official said, "Lasting Impressions is an exhibition highly praised by the media and audiences in the United States, and we are presenting it at the Dongtan branch to provide customers with a completely new experience," adding, "With video combined perfectly with auditory elements such as classical music and chanson, it will be a special experience that satisfies all five senses of our customers."
