[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 8th that it has signed an investment implementation agreement (MOA) with Hapcheon Tourism Platform for the construction of a cable car and sky tower.

Hapcheon Tourism Platform is a special purpose company (SPC) that signed an investment business agreement (MOU) with Hapcheon-gun on September 14.

The Hapcheon Tourism Platform development project is a project to build a 3km-long cable car connecting the Video Theme Park and auxiliary dam tourist site with the area near the summit of Akgyeonsan Mountain located in Seong-ri, Daebyeong-myeon, along with the construction of the country's tallest 45m-high sky tower. The total project cost is approximately 70 billion KRW.

According to Hapcheon-gun, once the Hapcheon Tourism Platform development project is completed in 2024, it is expected to attract about 400,000 visitors annually, along with the opening of the Hamyang-Ulsan expressway.

Moon Jun-hee, mayor of Hapcheon-gun, emphasized, "We will spare no effort to actively support the smooth progress of the Hapcheon Tourism Platform development project, including the remaining administrative procedures except for changes to cultural heritage."

He added, "Please make sure to complete the tourism platform development project to enhance the Hapcheon tourism brand image and contribute to the development of the local economy," urging Hapcheon Tourism Platform.
