GKL Receives Prime Minister's Award at the '2021 New Technology Commercialization Promotion Competition'

GKL is taking a commemorative photo after receiving the Prime Minister's Commendation at the 2021 New Technology Commercialization Promotion Competition.

[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Grand Korea Leisure (GKL), which operates the foreigner-only Seven Luck Casino, announced on the 8th that it received the Prime Minister’s Commendation (New Technology Commercialization Promotion Division) at the ‘2021 New Technology Commercialization Promotion Conference’ held at The-K Hotel Seoul in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

Now in its 25th year, the ‘New Technology Commercialization Promotion Conference’ is an event hosted by the Korea New Product Certification Association and organized by the National Institute of Technology and Standards under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. It was established to discover and reward individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to national industrial development and competitiveness through recognized innovative technologies.

Since 2013, GKL has collaborated with the ICT SME Mongtallang International to successfully develop Korea’s first Slot Machine Game Management System (SMS), and subsequently replaced all equipment at its three Seven Luck business sites in Seoul and Busan with new products. GKL was also recognized for its contributions to fostering competitive SMEs, promoting the development of new technology products, and expanding market support by assisting with securing intellectual property rights to protect technology and overseas market expansion.

Kim Young-san, President of GKL, said, “We are very pleased that our efforts to support the development and market expansion of new technology products have been recognized. Going forward, GKL will continue to strive as a public enterprise to create social value and promote national industrial development through win-win cooperation with SMEs.”

Previously, in December 2019, GKL was recognized for its achievements in ▲localization and market support of casino equipment ▲data openness and verification through operation of the GKL Technology Verification Center ▲development and commercialization of innovative products using open data, receiving the ‘Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Commendation for Industrial Technology Promotion’ and the ‘Chairman of the Win-Win Growth Committee Commendation for Best Public Institution in Win-Win Growth Culture.’ In August last year, GKL also joined the ‘K-Testbed’ support project, a one-stop platform that provides integrated information on testing new technologies and products of ventures and startups and supports overseas market expansion, demonstrating its strong commitment to fostering SMEs, creating jobs, and promoting mutual growth.
