Air Busan to Maintain Busan-Guam Flights Resumed After 20 Months

Air Busan to Maintain Busan-Guam Flights Resumed After 20 Months Air Busan Airbus A321neo.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Trainee Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Air Busan decided to continue operating the Busan-Guam route, which resumed service about 20 months ago on the 27th of last month.

Due to the spread of the Omicron variant virus, the recovery sentiment in the tourism industry is shrinking, and various airlines are canceling their planned international routes.

Air Busan has decided to continue operating the Busan-Guam route without interruption.

Since the international flights at Gimhae Airport were opened through the efforts of the local community, the airline plans to bear the losses and fulfill its responsibilities as a regional airline.

An Air Busan official said, “Since the international flights at regional airports have only recently opened and the severity of Omicron has not been confirmed, suspending operations would further dampen the recovery sentiment of the tourism industry that was hard to revive. We have decided to operate as scheduled until accurate analysis results on Omicron are available.”

Air Busan is accepting reservations only for passengers departing from Korea on the Busan-Guam route and is not accepting passengers departing from Guam locally.

In accordance with strengthened measures by domestic and international quarantine authorities, the airline prioritizes perfect quarantine to ensure passenger safety.

An Air Busan official stated, “We will fulfill our social responsibility to help regional airports become more active and to normalize the related industries that are experiencing severe difficulties.”
