Korean Air announced on the 8th that it ranked first in the international first-class category and business class seat design category at the '2021 Global Traveler Tested Awards' hosted by the world-renowned travel magazine, Global Traveler.
Global Traveler is a monthly aviation and travel magazine published in the Americas since 2004, which annually publishes rankings of companies in various aviation and travel-related fields based on surveys of its subscribers.
In addition to the design category, Korean Air was ranked 2nd in the transpacific airline category, 2nd in the North Asia airline category, 2nd in the cabin crew service category, 3rd in the in-flight meal category, 3rd in the in-flight service category, 5th in the business class service category, and 5th in the frequent flyer program category, achieving an overall ranking of 4th among airlines worldwide.
Korean Air offers the Cosmo Suite 2.0 in first class and the Prestige Suite 2.0 seats in Prestige Class to provide a comfortable travel experience. The airline is committed to enhancing customer service by continuously upgrading its in-flight entertainment system and offering in-flight meals made with seasonal ingredients.
The integrated quarantine program 'Care First,' introduced to ensure safer air travel amid the COVID-19 situation, also received favorable evaluations. It strengthened contactless procedures and quarantine measures at every stage of the customer's air travel journey.
Through IT investments and innovations such as the 'Baggage Loading Notification,' which informs passengers whether their luggage has been loaded onto the aircraft at the time of boarding, and chatbot services that allow customers to ask questions via smartphones, Korean Air strives to make it easier for customers to use airline services.
Korean Air has been recognized as the 'Airline of the Year,' known as the Oscar of the aviation industry, by Air Transport World in the United States, and has been consecutively selected as a '5-Star Airline' in the COVID-19 safety rating by the UK-based Skytrax and as a '5-Star Airline' by APEX.
Korean Air stated, "We plan to continue efforts to upgrade our services to firmly establish ourselves as a leading global airline in the post-COVID-19 era."
