Halla Group Employees Walk Three and a Half Times Around the Earth... Supporting Artificial Joint Surgery Costs for Elderly in Jeju Island JJHalla Co., Ltd. [Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyewon] Halla Group has successfully concluded the '2021 Walk Together' event held to support artificial joint surgeries for the elderly in Jeju Island. The donation of 30 million KRW, raised by 1,034 group employees, was delivered to the Elderly Medical Sharing Foundation through JJ Halla Co., Ltd.'s Jeju branch on the 7th. The donation ceremony was attended by Nam Kyuhwan, CEO of JJ Halla, and Kim Sunghwan, Chairman of the Elderly Medical Sharing Foundation.


Halla Group launched the social contribution campaign '2021 Walk Together' for four weeks starting October 25 under the slogan "Our ten steps become one step for the elderly." Employees participated in the campaign by using the WalkOn (step counting) app during commuting, work movements, jogging, and other daily activities to raise funds. The combined steps of Halla Group employees amount to about three and a half times around the Earth (approximately 155,260 km).


CEO Nam said, "Each step of the heart can lead to the happiness of the elderly in Jeju," adding, "We will continue to strengthen sincere social contribution activities as a leading company working together with Jeju." Chairman Kim expressed gratitude, saying, "We thank Halla Group for giving hope to the underprivileged elderly in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province through the Walk Together campaign."
