Shinhan Card, SKT Launch Woozoo Pass PLCC... "Seizing the 100 Trillion Won Subscription Market"

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki Ha-young] Shinhan Card is teaming up with SK Telecom to capture the domestic subscription market, which is projected to reach 100 trillion KRW by 2025.

On the 8th, Shinhan Card announced the launch of the 'T-Uju Shinhan Card,' a private label credit card (PLCC) specialized for the T-Uju subscription product package 'Uju Pass' and 'T Membership,' in collaboration with SK Telecom.

T-Uju is a subscription platform created by SK Telecom, with participation from various companies such as Amazon, 11st, Google, Starbucks, and E-Mart. Uju Pass is a service that packages these subscription products for easier use.

This card offers a full cashback on the monthly subscription fee to eliminate the burden of using Uju Pass. If you subscribe to the premium service 'Uju Pass All' with this card and have a previous month’s spending of over 300,000 KRW, you can receive a full cashback of 9,900 KRW on the monthly subscription fee. For the basic service 'Uju Pass Mini,' if the previous month’s spending exceeds 200,000 KRW, you can get a cashback of 4,900 KRW on the monthly subscription fee.

Uju Pass All provides basic benefits such as free international shipping on Amazon overseas direct purchases and two 5,000 KRW discount coupons every month, along with 3,000 SK Pay points usable on 11st each month. Additionally, users can enjoy Google One Membership with 100GB cloud storage for 12 months. Customers can also choose one subscription benefit from options like Baedal Minjok, Paris Baguette, Starbucks, and more according to their preferences.

Uju Pass Mini offers the same benefits as Uju Pass All, including free Amazon overseas direct shipping, discount coupons, and 3,000 SK Pay points, with the option to select either Google One 100GB usage or a Wave Lite subscription.

This card also provides 'T+ Points (T Plus Points),' the T Membership reward points accumulation service. Users can earn 5% points when shopping at large marts such as E-Mart, Homeplus, Lotte Mart, and online mall 11st, and 10% T Plus Points when using convenience stores, bakeries, coffee shops, and other lifestyle-friendly businesses. The monthly accumulation limit is 5,000 points for spending over 300,000 KRW in the previous month and 10,000 points for spending over 700,000 KRW.

The annual fee is 15,000 KRW for domestic use only and 18,000 KRW for overseas brand (Mastercard).

To celebrate the launch of the T-Uju Shinhan Card, Shinhan Card is also running an event until February 28, 2022, offering a 10,000 KRW cashback for payments over 20,000 KRW made with this card.
